Wilkie Rider are specialist qualified Jewellers and Optometrists. The company have two retail outlets in Scotland, Dumbarton and Alexandria. Wilkie Riders team of highly qualified Optometrists are trained in state of the art modern equipment available to provide the best in eye care for our clients.
Wilkie and Rider are an established Opticians and Jewellers, who for over 50 years have endeavoured to marry old fashioned ideals of service, quality, integrity and high ethical standards, with forward looking commitment to modernise our product range, our equipment and our skills.
We have five optometrists working between our two practices. We are all keen to deliver the best standards of eye care possible. We are currently upgrading our equipment to include the latest digital cameras.
Free Eye Tests
Eye examinations are now free for everyone in Scotland, so it makes sense to choose your optician for the level of care you receive. It is now considered appropriate to consult an optometrist for all eye problems and the service is free.
Contact Lenses
Contact lenses are a major part of our business and we have over 30 years experience of fitting all types of lenses for all type of eyes and for all occasions. Give them a try the chances are, with all the new materials available, there will be a type to suit you.
Ortho-Keratology
We are also the only local Optometrists who carry out Ortho-Keratology, ORTHO-K, (Google it). A reversible alternative to laser surgery, suitable for some prescriptions. There are also many innovations in spectacle lens and frame technology, your spectacles are part of the most important sense you have, why not make sure they are the best that they can be.

Wilkie Rider also specialise in jewellery including watches, giftware and fashion items from leading names.
